Fast Food CEOs Are Tired Of Your Minimum Wage Bullshit

Carl’s Jr, known for their tasteless ads AND food, wants to open up a fully-automated restaurant with no human employees because fuck you.

In an interview with with Business Insider, CKE (who owns Hardees and Carl’s Jr) CEO Andy Puzder says that the strategy is meant to combat the inevitable rise in minimum wage at the state and federal level.

“With government driving up the cost of labor, it’s driving down the number of jobs,” he says. “You’re going to see automation not just in airports and grocery stores, but in restaurants.”

When asked about their recent opening of their automated restaurant in Phoenix, McDonald’s basically echoed the same sentiment.

“With the high demand for a wage of $15/hr and the protests getting worse every day, this is something we had to implement. Plus with the tremendous margin of human error, poor hygiene, lack of education, laziness, as well as the recent advancements in artificial intelligence it just make sense to automate our restaurants now rather than later.”

Puzder is not shy when it comes to his stance on raising the minimum wage (he’s made it clear before) but this interview is probably his biggest outward statement on the subject to where he made an effort for a tangible plan to, basically, eliminate his employees.

“This is the problem with Bernie Sanders, and Hillary Clinton, and progressives who push very hard to raise the minimum wage,” says Puzder. “Does it really help if Sally makes $3 more an hour if Suzie has no job?”

McRobots are coming and you’re all fucked, kids.
