Today, UTRGV formally announced that their newly acquired stadium would be renamed the Robert and Janet Vackar Stadium and, by God, they couldn’t even give “UTRGV Stadium” or even “Vaqueros Stadium” a fucking month before they let companies jizz their name all over it.
We’re still a over a year and a half before UTRGV football plays their first meaningful snap of football, but now that the roster is beginning to fill out, let’s take a closer look at the Vaqueros QB signees.
Earlier today, UTRGV announced their acquisition of HEB Park, renaming it UTRGV Stadium. According to their press release, UTRGV Stadium will serve “as the primary home for the upcoming Vaqueros football program.”
In a world brimming with information at our fingertips, it’s both a travesty and a comedy that, quite expectedly, the UTRGV Football program remains an enigmatic ghost on the internet. The powers that be within UTRGV couldn’t even spruce for some lonely student, and future reddit mod, to create a Wikipedia page for the team.
