For people actually interested in watching this circus, Showtime has announced that the August 26th bout between Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Conor McGregor PPV will cost $89.95 for standard definition (who the hell still buys that?) and $99.95 for HD.
The LA Times’ Lance Pugmire was the first to report the announcement:
The @FloydMayweather @TheNotoriousMMA pay per view price will be $89.95 — same as the Pacquiao fight – $10 more for HD.

These prices are the same that were set for Showtime’s record-breaking fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao back in 2015. To date, Floyd Mayweather owns the top three PPV buys of all time with this fight likely to best all of them.
I’ve berated this point before, but again, Floyd is a world-class boxer going up against an athlete who has never boxed professionally at this high a level. People who honestly think that this fight is going to be anywhere remotely competitive are just fooling themselves out of their money.
Here’s a list of better things to do with $100:
1) Buy 100 items at the dollar store.
-That’s about it.
Most of us will probably host or go to a watch party to pitch in to buy the fight, or you can just watch it like your grandpa for free on TV Azteca or something.
