The Mexican national soccer team has named current UANL Tigres coach and human brillo pad Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti as interim coach after Mexico’s previous manager, Miguel Herrera, got himself canned after punching some dude in the neck.
His title IS in fact “interim,” but by how the Mexican Soccer Federation puts it, it actually sounds more like a try out:
“It will be up to four games,” De Maria told ESPN, adding that “we will talk later” about what happens if the results are positive.
His tryout will include 2 September friendlies against the United States (which can go either way), against Trinidad & Tobago (a team that scored 4 goals against them during the Gold Cup) and close out with Argentina (fuck).
Ferretti led the Tigres to the Apertura final in 2014, losing to America after winning their first game, but losing the 2nd in aggregate.
