Pharr PD responded to a 911 call at approximately 12:30 PM today at 407 N. Jackson Rd., the location of Point Blank Sporting Goods in Pharr, a popular shooting range in the Rio Grande Valley, where it was reported that Robert Levrier, Jr., 22, shot himself.

Levier was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he would later die from his self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to Pharr Police Chief Andy Harvey, a preliminary investigation concluded that Levier rented a 9mm handgun for use at the shooting range, and fired several shots at the range’s targets before turning the gun on himself and firing. Harvey stated that the self-inflicted gunshot wound was not accidental but intentional.

Robert “Robbie” Levrier, Jr., was the son of AIM Media’s Director of Circulation, Robert Levrier. AIM Media is the national media conglomerate that owns The Monitor, The Valley Morning Star, and the Brownsville Herald.

Three hours prior to the incident, Robert Levrier, Jr. tweeted a cryptic message:

Levrier’s Instagram biography also shares a concerning headline, stating “Sad Days” and “I’m not waiting for the world to wake up.”
