The Harvest Christian Eagles girls basketball team have just won the TAPPS 1A state championship over Texoma Christian School-Sherman, 78-27, wrapping up a dominant 42-1 record this season. This is their 2nd state championship in a row and they are absolutely the best team in the Valley that you’ve never heard of.
This year’s iteration of Harvest Christian Academy’s girls basketball team boasts an incredible resume with wins against Valley teams from across all spectrums of classifications including wins against the likes of Brownsville Lopez, Mission, Mission Veterans, Port Isabel, PSJA North, Harlingen, and others.
The Eagles started their season winning 27 games in a row while on a 40-game winning streak dating back to last season before falling to Edinburg High 66-60, a class 6A opponent.
This season, they averaged a margin of victory of over 50 points, holding opponents to just 28.06 ppg, while scoring 78.69 ppg.
However, their post season numbers even more jaw dropping, as they held their opponents to just 25.4 ppg, while scoring 82.2 ppg. A whopping 56.8-point average margin of victory.
