It happened again. The Cavaliers playing with only 7 guys, basically (sorry Mike Miller :/ ), have thrown everything they’ve got at the Warriors to be juuuust good enough to inch out their 2-1 series lead. Game 3 played out like the narrative sequel to game 2; not as good as the original, but you get the feeling of where the story is headed toward. So altogether now: none of us thought Cleveland could repeat what they did on Sunday.

Last night’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals was not pretty. It was sloppy, at times both Cavaliers and Golden State struggled to score and the refs took control of the game…by not ACTUALLY controlling the game. It was a throwback 90’s kinda game and damn was it a hell of a game.

Reports from UKs The Sunday Times say that the 2010 World Cup vote was rigged all along. But of course, this is FIFA, so the rigging and the corruption are being played out at much higher stakes. Within the evidence that the FBI is obtaining for charges of 14 FIFA executives charged with money laundering, fraud, and racketeering, it turns out that Morocco, not South Africa, actually won the final vote.

Between the final buzzer ringing on the disappointing (even though we all knew it would go down this way) pair of conference finals and today, the sports world has had it’s hands full with Caitlyn Jenner and the United States cock-kicking FIFA, then getting bummed about the rest of the world not giving a fuck and getting Sepp Blatter re-elected, and then subsequently having hope restored again a few days later; it’s been a better week than we could’ve hoped for.

Mascots UTRGV Could Have Used and Why They All Sucked (Yes, Including Bucky)

So, we’re about a few months into the Vaquero / UTRGV era, leaving thousands of UTPA alumni (and maybe 3 from UTB? Maybe?) still crying foul over their new mascot, calling for the dissolving of the Board of Regents, and for Guy Bailey’s head on a pike.

Most of the crowd fervor comes from the board of regents/Guy Bailey recommending and subsequently selecting a mascot that was not one of the 10 student-survey finalists that was posted on the UT system website. Taking a quick glance of the finalist list and you really couldn’t have gotten THAT upset for Guy Bailey going off the grid. I mean, when you’re given a list THAT shitty to choose from, and if you have the power to make up for that list, then fucking do it. It’s like if you were to ask your kids for a list of suggestions they wanna eat this week. Try it. They’ll probably write down things like “Cake” or “Pizza” or “Chocolate.” As a parent, you have a responsibility to not listen to your kids dumb shit suggestions and choose things that are in your kids’ best interest.
